Terms of Use

Effective November 8, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Kāyū app for iPhone, the Kāyū web app, and the kayu.health website (together, “Kāyū”). Kāyū is provided by Ossium LLC (“we”, “us”). By using Kāyū you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kāyū.

Not medical advice

Kāyū is a personal log. It is not a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Nothing in Kāyū is medical advice. An association you make between a symptom and a medication is your own note, not a finding. Always talk to a qualified clinician about your health, and call your local emergency number in an emergency.

The app

We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use Kāyū on devices you own or control. For the iPhone app, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the law allows. Apple is not responsible for Kāyū or for supporting it; we are.

Your account

You need an account to use Kāyū. You’re responsible for keeping your password, email or Apple ID secure, and for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your records

What you log in Kāyū is yours. We don’t claim ownership of it. You give us permission to store, copy and transmit it only as needed to provide Kāyū to you: saving it, showing it on your devices and in the web app, and building your export.

Acceptable use

Please don’t misuse Kāyū. That includes trying to access other people’s accounts or data, interfering with or overloading our servers, reverse-engineering the app except where the law allows it, or using Kāyū for anything unlawful.

Changes and availability

We may update, change or stop parts of Kāyū over time. If we ever plan to shut Kāyū down, we’ll give notice in the app so you can export your records first.

Disclaimer

Kāyū is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that Kāyū will be error-free or always available, that reminders will always arrive, or that data will never be lost. Export a copy of records that matter to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ossium LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Kāyū, including any decision you make based on what you’ve logged. Our total liability for any claim relating to Kāyū is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Kāyū in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we’ll let you know in the app. Continuing to use Kāyū after a change means you accept the updated terms.
